WestJet and Telus have announced a new partnership that will bring SpaceX’s Starlink satellite internet to passengers by the end of the year with the service being free to WestJet Rewards members.

Novaspace, the new entity formed from the Euroconsult and SpaceTec Partners merger, has released its High Throughput Satellites (HTS) market report which details how Non-Geostationary Orbit (NGSO) constellations are “redefining the High Throughput Satellites market landscape.”

New Brunswick-based Xplore Inc. and SpaceX's Canadian office have both been tapped for offers to provide satellite Internet service to 43,000 homes and businesses in Ontario. It's part of program from the Government of Ontario that it says will see the province invest "nearly $4 billion to bring reliable high-speed internet access to every community across the province by the end of 2025."  This page …

Canadian telecommunications giant Rogers has announced that they are going to be working with two different satellite companies to offer direct satellite-to-smartphone coverage starting in 2024, according to a pair of press releases on April 26th. They’ll be partnering with both satellite telephony newcomer Lynk Global and SpaceX’s Starlink service to provide the coverage. 

As SpaceX continue to increase the number of Starlink satellites being launched, including its new generation of satellites, it’s also mindful that competition is coming, and fast.

As Starlink launches and satellites have become staples for space industry observers, it’s easy to forget that the point of the enterprise is the provision of Internet services.
