Almost six years to the date that the Canadian CubeSat Program was announced, another batch of four CubeSat’s we’re deployed from the International Space Station.

The CubeSats NEUDOSE from McMaster University, AuroraSat from the Aurora Research Institute, Ex-Alta 2 from the University of Alberta and YukonSat from the Yukon University we’re deployed in two batches.

Ex-Alta 2 was deployed in the first batch and some 10 minutes later the remaining three CubeSats were deployed.

Late last fall the University of Victoria’s ORCASat and Dalhousie University’s LORIS were launched from the Nanoracks CubeSat Deployer 24th mission.

This bring to six the number of CubeSats deployed from the Canadian CubeSat Project. 15 teams were originally selected to fly missions, however the Canadian Space Agency has not stated if all 15 will actually make it to space. There are currently no Canadian CubeSat Project scheduled to fly to the International Space Station as part of the next SpaceX CRS-28 resupply mission in June. The manifest for the December SpaceX CRS-29 mission as yet to be announced.
