EarthDaily Federal, the U.S. subsidiary of Vancouver-based Earth observation company EarthDaily Analytics, has been named to the newly formed Space Intelligence Council, operated by the Intelligence and National Security Alliance (INSA).

INSA established the council to act as a bridge between the commercial space sector, government agencies, and the national security community. According to the alliance, the group will focus on updating procurement policies and finding ways to more rapidly adopt commercial space technologies for defence operations.

As a member, EarthDaily Federal has stated its intention to push for stricter industry-wide data standards. Specifically, the company aims to advocate for the adoption of Analysis-Ready Data (ARD) to better facilitate the use of automated artificial intelligence within government geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) workflows.

โ€œNational security decisions depend on trusted data,โ€ said Nicole Toigo, President of EarthDaily Federal. โ€œEarthDaily is building the world’s most trusted measure of planetary change, delivering consistent, science-calibrated, AI-ready data that increases confidence in analysis and enables faster, more informed decisions. As missions demand greater persistence and accuracy, this foundation becomes critical to maintaining operational advantage.โ€

The appointment aligns with EarthDailyโ€™s ongoing expansion into the defence and intelligence market. The company’s underlying business model relies on the premise that raw, uncalibrated satellite imagery is inefficient for modern machine learning systems. By securing a position on the INSA council, EarthDaily gains a formal platform to provide input on the technical baselines the U.S. government may use to evaluate and purchase commercial space data.

The announcement also solidifies the operational footprint of EarthDaily Federal. Operating as a cleared U.S. entity allows the Canadian-parented company to participate directly within the U.S. national security apparatus.

This development follows the companyโ€™s recent achievement of international CEOS-ARD compliance and the signing of an eight-figure data subscription with a U.S. defence contractor earlier in April.

This groundwork is being laid as the company prepares to expand its orbital hardware. On May 3, 2026, within a launch window of 2:59 a.m. to 3:36 a.m. ET, SpaceX is scheduled to launch a Falcon 9 rocket on the CAS500-2 mission from Vandenberg Space Force Base. The payload will include six EarthDaily satellites manifested by Loft Orbital. These spacecraft will join the first satellite of the EarthDaily Constellation, which launched on June 23, 2025. An additional three satellites are scheduled for launch later this year to complete the 10-satellite network, which is designed to provide the continuous, globally consistent measurements the company intends to supply to its defence and commercial clients.
