Vancouver-based Earth observation company EarthDaily Analytics has signed an eight-figure data subscription agreement to provide daily, AI-ready satellite imagery to an undisclosed U.S. defence and intelligence technology company.

The agreement will see EarthDaily provide the U.S. contractor with access to tens of millions of square kilometres of daily satellite imagery. The deal highlights a growing trend in the geospatial intelligence (GEOINT) sector: the procurement of data designed specifically to feed into large-scale artificial intelligence and machine learning workflows, rather than traditional visual analysis.

“We look forward to partnering closely with this established and highly respected leader in US defense and intelligence technology,” said Don Osborne, President and Chief Executive Officer of EarthDaily Analytics. “It is a strong validation of both their mission and the quality of our data.”

The data will be supplied by the upcoming EarthDaily Constellation. Once fully operational, the constellation is designed to provide continuous, globally consistent measurements. By capturing the Earth every day at the exact same local solar time and viewing geometry, the constellation is designed to reduce noise and artifacts introduced by inconsistent collection conditions, which the company states is a key requirement for training and deploying AI models.

EarthDaily’s hardware utilizes 22 spectral bands spanning the visible, near-infrared, shortwave infrared, and thermal infrared spectrums. Combined with radiometric and geometric calibration, the system is built to allow machine learning models to detect changes in terrain and infrastructure.

The defence contract follows a series of recent operational milestones for the company.

Last month, EarthDaily achieved CEOS Analysis Ready Data (CEOS-ARD) Compliance, a globally recognized technical certification verifying that their data meets the scientific-grade integrity required for automated analysis. This standard of quality is increasingly required by defence and intelligence agencies looking to monitor geopolitical events continuously and at scale.

Additionally, in late March, the company was awarded a €480,000 grant by the French government to provide agricultural intelligence to support Ukraine, demonstrating the application of EarthDaily’s data across both defence and civilian security sectors.

The first satellite in the EarthDaily Constellation was launched on June 23, 2025. The company will launch an additional six satellites in May on a SpaceX Falcon 9 launch and and another three are scheduled for later this year.

As the broader Earth observation industry shifts toward providing standardized data feeds for algorithms, this latest contract positions EarthDaily Analytics as a supplier within the automated defence intelligence market.
