Airbus Defence and Space Limited Awarded Support Contract for RCM and PE2 Cryptographic Subsystems

Public Services and Procurement Canada (PSPC) published notification today that Airbus Defence and Space Limited of the UK had been awarded a service support contract for the RADARSAT Constellation Mission (RCM) and Polar Epsilon 2 (PE2) Cryptographic Subsystems.

The contract has both the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) and Department of National Defence (DND) as the customer.

PSPC states that Airbus Defence and Space Limited is “the designer and manufacturer of both the RCM and PE2 cryptographic subsystems” and thus “was identified as the sole corporation having the unique expertise and experience required to perform this type of work. This is a task authorization contract for an initial period of one year, which also provides for option years, to be exercised as needed.”

The contract value is GBP£290,767 (CAD$496K).
