The Canadian Space Agency (CSA) is celebrating World Space Week by holding a series of lectures including this one on the OSIRIS-REx mission to asteroid Bennu.
In this the second of three short lectures designed to be under 15 minutes, Tim Haltigin, Planetary Senior Mission Scientist, talks about the ongoing OSIRIS-REx mission to asteroid Bennu in which Canada is providing the OSIRIS-REx Laser Altimeter or OLA. The OLA instrument will create a critical 3-D map of asteroid Bennu’s shape as well as assisting with spacecraft navigation.
There is one last CSA lecture today which will be broadcast on Facebook. SpaceQ will post the last lecture tomorrow.
The first CSA lecture was broadcast last Friday on the RADARSAT Constellation Mission.
