In an email to its industry list today, the Canadian Space Agency (CSA) confirmed it would lead an industry mission to Australia November 4 – 12, 2019.

The industry mission coincides with GEO Week 2019, a conference organized by the Group on Earth Observations (GEO) which is an intergovernmental partnership of 105 member governments and 127 participating organizations. GEO Week 2019 will also include a ministerial summit.

The CSA delegation will be lead by Éric Laliberté, Director General of Space Utilization.

According to the email “Environment and Climate Change Canada (ECCC) is leading Government of Canada’s work at GEO, and as such, David Harper, Director General of Monitoring and Data Services Directorate at ECCC, will represent Minister of Environment at GEO Ministerial. Canadian Delegation will also include officials from Natural Resources Canada, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Statistics Canada, and Agriculture and Agri-food Canada.”

Canada will have a booth at GEO Week 2019 which will be available free of charge for CSA mission participants.

The CSA delegation will attend the GEO Week 2019 conference in Canberra between November 4 -9. Following the conference the delegation will then head to Sydney and Adelaide between November 10 -12.

The visit to Sydney and Adelaide will include visiting local companies. The CSA says it is collaborating with GAC Trade Commissioners Service and that a list of site visits will be available shortly.
