NASA’s schedule for the Artemis program was always unrealistic at the funding levels it had to work with. Now comes another delay, this time for NASA’s VIPER lunar rover mission.

Canadian applied geomatics scientist Myriam Lemelin of the University of Sherbrooke will get funding from the Canadian Space Agency for the lunar VIPER ice-hunting rover.

NASA’s Volatiles Investigating Polar Exploration Rover, known as the VIPER rover, is a precursor science mission for the Artemis program. It is scheduled to be delivered to the surface of the Moon in December 2022. It’s also important to the space economy.
