Ottawa, ON – Lisa Campbell, President, Canadian Space Agency, was a keynote speaker at the 2024 Space Bound conference on Tuesday, September 24.

Campbell’s short speech focused on recent highlights at the Canadian Space Agency (CSA). While Campbell didn’t make a funding announcement herself, the Honourable Harjit S. Sajjan who spoke just before her did, announcing $15M in funding from the Space Space Technology Development Program Announcement of Opportunity 8 (AO8) was being invested in 22 projects from 16 organizations.

Of note, Campbell did mention that she had met with students at the CSA headquarters the week before who are involved the CubeSats Initiative in Canada for STEM (CUBICS) program to learn more about their CubeSats. Last summer the CSA awarded $3.15 million in grants to nine Canadian universities to design, build and launch CubeSats into orbit.
