Space Canada’s Spacebound 2023 industry conference began with a bang on October 18, 2023, when François-Philippe Champagne, Minister of Innovation, Science and Industry and Minister responsible for the Canadian Space Agency, announced $1.012 billion in funding over the next 15 years for the ‘RADARSAT+ portfolio.’

Space Canada’s second annual conference, Spacebound 2023, appears to be bigger than before. Certainly the venue is bigger: This year’s event, which is being held in Ottawa on October 17-19, 2023, is headquartered at the Canadian Museum of Nature, a larger facility than last year’s Bayview Yards location. Space Canada is the Canadian space industry’s trade association.

The first Space Bound conference organized by the fledgling Space Canada industry group was an opportunity for the industry to come together, small and large, and see if they could host a meaningful event.
