SkyWatch announced today that the Poland based satellite company SatRevolution, which will see two of their STORK satellites launch later this month, will have SkyWatch’s integrated data management solution TerraStream onboard.
SkyWatch announced its integrated data management solution TerraStream in early 2020 at the same time it announced its second round of funding. The company has raised $14M to date.
The TerraStream stream service is turnkey solution designed for satellite data operators. The service provides data management and processing, an ordering system, and delivery and billing. Customers can opt to put their data on SkyWatch’s EarthCache system for orders on-demand. The SatRevolution satellites are the first to launch with TerraStream onboard.
SatRevolution was created in 2016 with the goal of developing a real-time Earth Observation constellation. The STORK-4 and STORK-5 3U CubeSat’s are launching on a Virgin Orbit LauncherOne rocket later this month. The two STORKs are part of a 14 optical satellite constellation.
Grzegorz Zwolinski, CEO at SatRevolution said in a press release that “at SatRevolution, we believe that remote sensing can help solve problems around the world, from recovering from natural disasters, to helping farmers improve crop yield. However, the barriers to entering the satellite market are really high. Working with SkyWatch has allowed us to enter this new market faster and more profitably.”
James Slifierz, CEO at SkyWatch said “we’re honored to have been selected by our friends at SatRevolution to support their STORK mission. Enabling new and exciting commercial satellite operators is the key to further democratizing Earth observation data, and we’re thrilled to partner with SatRevolution to bring this high-quality and affordable data down to Earth and into the hands of people who need it most, via the TerraStream and EarthCache platforms.”
SkyWatch told SpaceQ that another eight satellites with TerraStream are planned for launch through the end of the year. Seven of those are for SatRevolution and one for Space JLTZ of Mexico. As well, the company has a pipeline of double digit TerraStream enabled satellites planned for launch in 2022. The names of those customers are not being released yet.
To coincide with the TerraStream announcement, SkyWatch published the following marketing video.
