CASI Releases ASTRO 18 Preliminary Technical Program

The Canadian Aeronautics and Space Institute (CASI) has released the ASTRO 2018 Preliminary Technical Program.

The Biennial event will be held in Quebec City and will feature the Resilient Space Workshop on Monday, May 14 followed by the plenary and technical program between May 15-17.

The event will include a Heads of Space Agencies Panel which at the moment includes Sylvain Laporte, President of the Canadian Space Agency and Pascale Ehrenfreund, Chair of the DLR Executive Board.

There will also be a DG Space Panel with Brigadier-General K.G. Whale, Director General & Component Commander – Space, National Defence Headquarters.

One of the keynotes already announced is Dr. Christyl Johnson of NASA Goddard  who will give a presentation to discuss the Capabilities and Expertise and Opportunities for Partnering with NASA’s Goddard Space Flight Center.

CASI describes ASTRO 18 as an exciting program of invited Canadian and international speakers participating in Plenary Sessions, panels, technical talks and the workshop. Attendees will hear presentations from leading academic and industry organizations, global space sector representatives and senior Canadian government officials. Speakers will explore ways that Canadian organizations can achieve their goals and participate more fully in the international space marketplace, detailing specific opportunities open to Canadian enterprises.
