Mike Suffredini, Program Manager of the International Space Station, reflects on the success of Canada’s signature technology.

The CBC is reporting that one of the Canadian designed and built Canadarm’s from the orbiter Endeavour will be coming home after its final mission slated to launch on April 29.

Geocentrix Technologies Ltd. of Vancouver has released the final list of entrants for Canada’s first Canadian Satellite Design Challenge. The Canadian Space Agency (CSA) this week released an Announcement of Opportunity (AO) for a Cluster Pilot as part of their efforts to increase capacity building in their space science and technology segment. Funding for the AO is estimated at $2.25 million over three years for up to five cluster projects selected with a maximum of $450,000 per project.

In a deal worth $11.7 million over 5 years MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (MDA) will provide the Department of National Defence (DND) with operation and maintenance support for Canada’s Sapphire Satellite System which was developed and built by MDA.
