The Canadian Space Agency has awarded six contracts with a total value of $2.9 million for the Phase 0 Science Instruments for its Lunar Exploration Accelerator Program.

    • Lunar Lander Sweeping Energetic Particle Telescope (LL-SWEPT)($599,967)
  • Mission Control Space Services Inc.
    • Intelligent Sensing and Perception in Infrared (I-SPI) ($600k)
  • Canadensys Aerospace Corporation (2)
    • Canadian Lunar Frozen Regolith Observation and Science Tools (FROST) suite ($300k)
    • Lunar Exploration Agriculture Feasibility (LEAF) ($300k)
  • MDA
    • Alpha Particle X-Ray Spectrometer (Lunar APXS) ($600k)
  • The University of Winnipeg
    • LunaR: A versatile Raman Spectrometer for Lunar Exploration ($497,349)

According to the CSA the “the objective of the Scientific Instruments Phase 0 study is to demonstrate and confirm the feasibility, value and benefits of the instruments for the LEAP, and to demonstrate the validity of the mission requirements as well as the project readiness, so as to proceed with the development of the system requirements.”
