Veteran executive Chris Pogue has left Thales Canada where he was Vice President and Managing Director, Defence and Security for a new role at Calian as President, Defence and Space.

According to Calian “Pogue will lead a high-performance organization that brings together Calianโ€™s Advanced Technologies and Learning business unitsโ€”leveraging the synergies of its communications and manufacturing solutions alongside its immersive training and simulation expertise to accelerate mission success for defence and space customers alike.”

Pogue previously worked at MDA as President of Government Programs and has also worked in leadership roles at General Dynamics Mission Systems Canada and CAE Professional Services.

Kevin Ford, CEO of Calian said, “Chris Pogue is one of Canadaโ€™s most accomplished leaders in defence and space innovation. His track recordโ€”growing Thales Canadaโ€™s support of the Canadian Armed Forces, leading MDA Governmentโ€™s Radarsat Constellation mission and building global simulation-based servicesโ€”gives him the vision and operational rigour to power Calianโ€™s next-generation defence & space capabilities.”

Pogue added, “Iโ€™m thrilled to join Calian at such a pivotal timeโ€”for the company and for Canada and its alliesโ€”as we face increasingly complex global uncertainty and opportunities. Bringing together the subject matter experts and leading-edge solutions from Advanced Technologies and Learning allows us to harness our collective strengths, co-innovate with our space and defence partners, and deliver the reliability and precision mission success demands.”
