In what really came as no surprise, NASA today announced that the next two Artemis missions to the Moon will be pushed back at least six months.

It’s just a coincidence, but Arizona is the location of both NASA training and Western University Planetary Surface Processes Field School this month.

On Jan. 9, NASA announced it would be shifting the launch of Artemis II to September 2025. Artemis III — the first mission to land humans on the surface of the moon since 1972 — was moved to September 2026.

NASA has announced delays in the upcoming Artemis missions to the Moon. In an announcement on Tuesday, they said that both the Artemis II and Artemis III missions will be delayed, though the Artemis IV mission will remain on schedule.  This page is for subscribers only.
