MacDonald, Dettwiler and Associates Ltd. (MDA) has signed an agreement with the European Space Agency (ESA) for RADARSAT-2 data, this coming shortly after announcing a deal with Russian.

The deal worth $11 million will see MDA provide ESA imagery from RADARSAT-2 from June of this year through to May in 2014.
According to MDA the RADARSAT-2 imagery provided to ESA will be used to provide mission critical information for sea ice monitoring of the Baltic Sea and Arctic Ocean throughout the ice seasons in support of disaster relief and to improve the safety of maritime navigation, asset monitoring, and mapping applications in support of the Global Monitoring for Environment and Security (GMES) program.
