MDA Space CEO Mike Greenley Wins Satellite Executive of the Year Award at Satellite 2024

At the ongoing Satellite 2024 conference in Washington MDA Space CEO Mike Greenley was announced as the winner of the 2023 Satellite Executive of the Year Award during a luncheon ceremony.

Greenley was up against some very tough competition that included Chris Kubasik, CEO of L3Harris, Eva Berneke, CEO of Eutelsat Group, Kathy Warden, CEO of Northrop Grumman, Peter Beck, CEO of Rocket Lab, and Stuart Daughtridge, Chairman of the DIFI Consortium.

In his short acceptance speech Greeley heaped praise on the MDA Space team saying “I think that this is a recognition of MDA Space. And what we’ve gone through in the last four years with all that growth, and the position that we’re starting to fill within the space community which is awesome and exciting.”

He added specific praise for Luigi Pozzebon, Vice President, Satellite Systems saying “and it’s recognition of Luigi Pozzebon and the satellite systems teams specifically in terms of this award, and the tremendous growth that we’re going through right now.”

Greenley also spoke of of the companies transition from the time it was spun out of Maxar. “It’s been a busy few years at MDA Space. The last four years, four years ago, we stood up on our own as an independent company once again and took off on a on a growth track. It’s been a great adventure. Three years ago we did an initial public offering. And since that time, we’ve been we’ve been really cranking, we’ve doubled in size over the last two or three years. And we completed our what we call our first double so now we’re doing our next double as the space market continues to expand and and we get to be part of that.”

In those four years MDA Space has grown to over 3,000 employees. The companies stock price was trading at $14.05 today, up 24.89% year to date.
