The Aerospace Industries Association of Canada (AIAC) has confirmed who the candidates will be at the Montreal and Vancouver election town halls.

Montreal election town hall

The first election town hall is this Thursday in Montreal. Candidates in attendance will include:

  • Hon. Marc Garneau (MP), Liberal Party
    • Riding: Notre-Dame-de-Grace – Westmount
  • Neil Drabkin, Conservative Party
    • Riding: Notre-Dame-de-Grace – Westmount
  • Alexandre Boulerice (MP), NDP
    • Riding: Rosemont – La Petite- Patire
  • Gabriel Ste-Marie (MP), Bloc Quebecois
    • Riding: Joliette

At this town hall meeting three of the four candidates are Members of Parliament (MP). The one candidate that is not an MP is Neil Drabkin of the Conservative Party who is contesting the riding of Liberal cabinet member Marc Garneau.

Vancouver election town hall

The Vancouver election town hall is scheduled for Tuesday, October 1.

  • Hon. Harjit S. Sajjan (MP), Liberal
    • Riding: Vancouver South
  • Hon. Ed Fast (MP), Conservative
    • Riding: Abbotsford
  • Breen Ouellette, NDP
    • Riding: Vancouver – Centre
  • Amita Kuttner, Green Party
    • Riding: Burnaby North – Seymour

At the Vancouver town hall two of the candidates are MP’s, Defence Minister Harjit Sajjan and Ed Fast who was the Minister for International Trade and as Minister for the Asia-Pacific Gateway under the previous Conservative government.

All the town halls be moderated by the Hon. Jean Charest, Chair of the AIAC’s Vision 2025 initiative. The candidates for the Thursday, October 3 town hall in Toronto have yet to be announced.
