Ottawa based Space Strategies Consulting, Ltd. (SSCL) is expanding its relationship with Ansys to become a Channel Partner in support of Digital Mission Operations and Digital Mission Modelling in Canada.
Ansys, known for its engineering simulation software, which includes its popular AGI Space Operations products, announced last week that Synopsys was acquiring the company in a $35 USD billion deal. The size of the deal speaks to the growth of Ansys has had in developing its engineering simulation software.
It is the growth in digital mission operations (DMO) and digital mission modelling (DMM) where SSCL sees an opportunity in Canada.
In a press release SSCL stated it “is extremely pleased that Ansys has selected us to be their representative to support small and medium businesses in exploiting the power of Digital Mission Engineering (DME).”
To that end, SSCL has partnered with veteran Wayne Ellis to become Director, Ansys DME Technology Solutions. Ellis has been the “president of AppSpace Solutions Inc, providing support to the STK/DME user community for the past 17 years.”
The deal with Ansys builds on the consulting and training services SSCL has provided since its inception. The company addressed what they’ll be providing saying, “Digital Mission Engineering (DME) uses computer-based modelling, simulation, and analysis software to evaluate the mission effectiveness of technology or systems within an operational context. This allows users to analyse operations and outcomes in a realistic environment and reduces the need for physical prototypes. SSCL, as a DME Channel Partner in Canada, will be responsible for the sale and support of Ansys DME software. In addition, due to SSCL’s in- Canada DME capacity, training and consulting services will be available to our Canadian clients.”
Andre Dupuis, SSCL’s President and CEO, said, “SSCL is very happy to be building on its relationship with Ansys. We are especially proud to be bringing in Wayne Ellis as our Director, Ansys DME Technology Solutions. Wayne will lead our talented team of engineers to provide the Canadian marketplace with world class digital mission engineering solutions.”
Peter Aves, Ansys Senior Director DME International Business, added, “I have been very privileged to have worked with Wayne for many years and I am excited about the prospects of this new relationship between SSCL and Ansys. Canadian clients will be very well served!”
And Wayne Ellis, Director Ansys DME Technology Solutions, added, “The need for digital mission engineering in Canada is stronger than ever. SSCL, with the support and partnership of Ansys, is well-positioned to assist defence and aerospace stakeholders to optimize and maximize the application of digital technologies to reduce program risk in the development of complex Canadian capabilities.”
