MDA said slowdowns in two space programs will lead to fewer revenues in Q3, during financial results released Friday (Aug. 12). But the company emphasized that it is working on guidance for 2023 and that the overall space market is strong, along with MDA’s customer base.

Recently retired BGen Kevin Whale who was Director General for Space at the Royal Canadian Air Force and recently Deputy Commanding General (Transformation) at Space Operations Command, United States Space Force has now now joined MDA.

A newly posted notice of potential procurement (NPP) offers a preselected list of possible Canadian Space Agency (CSA) vendors the chance to bid on work for “continuity of space-based Earth observations services for the Government of Canada.”

MDA has completed the first sale of Canadarm3 technology which will be used on the Axiom Space commercial space station.
