David Saint-Jacques will put years of training for a spacewalk to work on Monday April 8 as he and fellow Expedition 59 astronaut Anne McClain will exit the space stations Quest airlock around 8:05 a.m EDT to begin an approximate 7 hour spacewalk.

The two astronauts will install truss jumpers on the Unity module and the Starboard truss structure to ensure the Canadarm2 stays powered in the event one of its other power units fail.

Yesterday NASA previewed the spacewalk. The participants were;

  • Kenny Todd, International Space Station manager for Operations and Integration
  • Rick Henfling, spacewalk flight director
  • John Mularski, lead spacewalk officer

The 45 minute video below discusses the spacewalk in detail.
