HAWC is a continuously operating, wide field-of-view observatory sensitive to 100 GeV – 100 TeV gamma rays and cosmic rays. The Planetary and Terrestrial Mining Sciences Symposium (PTMSS) seeks to promote a closer relationship between the space and mining sectors. the intent is to allow mining experts to network with space scientists and engineers, to share knowledge and foster collaboration. Since 2009, PTMSS and the Space Resources Roundtable have jointly hosted the annual PTMSS/SRR, alternating between Canada and the US. ​The 2017 conference will be held in Montreal as a stream in the Canadian Institute of Mining AGM.
